“The hall was filled with eye-catching floral beauty!”

From first glance, as we arrived at the Fairgrounds, the Ancaster Fair was the home of great new buildings, young jumpers showing off their talents, colourful tractors lined up as far as the eye could see, a fun-filled midway “whirling” with activity and rows of food that smelled so great, that we “almost” started our day there.

Welcomed by the Ancaster Fair Volunteers, we found our way into the main lobby of Ancaster Fair’s main building. A fabulous display of amazing flower arrangements greeted us. Glass jarred floral competitions were on display, each adding to vibrancy of the hall.

These warm fall plants and decorations led us to the “Agri-Food Education Building”, where there was plenty to explore! From the “science” of inside the majestic Horse … to the pigs and small farm animals.

“The Agri-Food Educational Building was very interesting!”

One of the Ancaster Agricultural Societies goals and the main objective of the fair, is to provide an opportunity for people to experience agriculture, but organizers also want to educate and entertain with hands-on experiences. Our visit to this part of the Fair was enlightening, educational and fun!

“The agricultural displays were amazing!”

The rows and rows of grains, vegetables, baking competition and all the amazing components that you would “find at a fair” were showcased in fabulous display cases … you could really get up close and “personal”! You could see the community support of the fair was great as the submissions and participation from the students and schools was ample.

“We enjoyed examing all the displays and exhibits.”

Although the day was gloomy and rainy it did not dampen our spirits as the Fairgrounds held so many opportunities to enjoy large red tractors in rows as far as you could see. Display of agricultural harvesting were taking place. You could spend a lot of time just in this area alone.

“Our fastination with the tractors grew, as we inspected each row.”

The historical area captured the essence and allure of the past while the music from the Fairgrounds drew us to a performance for the school kids who enjoyed some live music and dance.

“The historical display captured our imagination!”

Moving on to yet another building, we enjoyed the opportunity to “get up close and personal” with livestock and the farmers who worked diligently caring for the animals.

“The serenity of the farm animals was calming.”

The Ancaster Fair has something for everyone. The Midway was quiet at the time of our visit … mid-day and rainy day boot, it wasn’t our place to be. The rain did not dampen our spirits are young riders took part in jumping competitions.

“The joy of competetion!”

The Ancaster Agricultural Society holds events and activities year round. It is home to “Equestrian” clubs with shows frequently. The facilities can be rented for all kinds of occasions. The Ancaster Fair Summer Camp is very active and a valuable asset to the communities around the Region.

Our Ontario Festivals Visited photographs and short “Visitor Experience” cannot really do justice for how much hard work and dedication the Ancaster Fair Volunteers, committee members and participants put into this “Experience”!

If we could only remember where we parked?
